Job Description Summary
Responsible for the coordination planning preparation presentation and evaluation of classroom. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development academic advising curriculum design and other activities that contribute to the department division and College. The instructor performs all other duties as directed by the Division Dean or the President or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Masters degree in English or a masters degree in any field plus fifteen (15) graduate level credits in English. (Satisfactory completion of 30 semester hours or more of relevant academic study in an accredited doctoral program may at the discretion of the Vice President be determined to meet this requirement.) One year full-time or equivalent part-time teaching experience at the college or high school level (experience with AP Dual Enrollment and/or English 12 Honors) in composition and/or business/technical writing. Experience implementing high-impact teaching practices preferred. Experience teaching developmental English co-requisites and/or ALP (Accelerated Learning Program) preferred. Background in composition/rhetoric greatly preferred.
