Senior Software Engineer (Python and AWS)

As a Senior Software Engineer at Diligent:
You build things that scale - and you dont stop at it works.
You design clean reliable backend systems shape architecture decisions and turn data into something powerful using AI/ML.
If youre a Python-focused engineer whos comfortable with cloud-native development data pipelines and solving real - world performance challenges this is your space. Youll be hands - on with modern tech (AWS SQL/NoSQL IaC) working in Agile teams where your ideas influence both the codebase and the product. If terms like scalability distributed systems APIs data processing and machine learning actually mean something in your day-to-day - youll feel at home here.

Heres a breakdown of what youll do (not all of it just the important stuff):

• Design implement review and test features in an Agile environment
• Contribute to system architecture and shape the future-state design of the platform
• Build and optimize scalable data processing solutions
• Develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities into data workflows
• Prototype and validate backend approaches when needed
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to refine requirements and user stories
• Ensure reliability scalability and cost-efficiency of solutions
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery to production
• Follow and promote best practices in code quality and testing

These are the essentials youll need to get an interview:

• 5 years experience in a hands-on development role at a commercial software company
• Strong experience with Python and common libs
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases preferably PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch
• Solid experience with cloud native development (preferably AWS)
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK (TypeScript)
• Problem-solver attitude - Technology agnostic approach
• Good written and oral communications
• Solid troubleshooting ability and skills
• Ability to contribute to the effectiveness of a high-performing agile team and to the product innovation.
• Successfully manage own workload and take personal responsibility and ownership for delivery behaviors and self-improvement
• Keen to improve processes and share knowledge across the team.

It would be great if you had these to but well support you if you dont:

• Experience with system design and scalable distributed systems
• Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines
• Experience with Apache Spark and/or Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with AI/ML models and their integration into data pipelines
• Understanding of cost-efficient data and AI processing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines containerization and cloud deployments (e.g. Docker GitHub Actions)
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
