Purpose

As Asset Risk Modelling Engineer you will support the management of the Transmission and Distribution Network by developing and updating asset data models for Operational Technology Assets in alignment with the relevant SP Energy Networks asset management strategies and policies.

Supporting the development and ongoing improvement of asset risk methodologies to help inform asset management decisions you will ensure a clear understanding of Operational Technology risks supporting the effective operation of the Transmission and Distribution systems.

Reporting to the OT Asset Risk Modelling Manager you will support the development of asset health condition and criticality information reports based upon internal asset information systems supporting the development of those in line with the risk methodology development.

Developing and delivering individual programmes you will encompass asset data improvement initiatives information systems development implementing condition and performance data collection programmes.

Responsibilities
Contributing to the delivery of the investment plan for Transmission and Distribution network (currently RIIO-2 and the development of future price controls for RIIO-3) by providing data analysis modelling solution development planning and implementation of engineering strategies policies and technical specifications you will contribute towards the development and implementation of investment policies strategies and system designs in accordance with best practice to ensure effective management of the asset base consistent with legal and licence requirements.

Preparing data models to feed into asset risk methodologies ensuring those maintained and updated are based on new data and emerging risks assisting with the development of asset replacements designs and network policies strategies and plans in a cost-effective manner.

Supporting the preparation of asset risk review meetings ensuring the monitoring of any risk controls implementation is agreed whilst completing engineering justification documents you will provide data inputs related to asset health and criticality including asset cyber vulnerabilities.

What youll bring

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate as minimum your Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or HND with suitable experience. Basic knowledge of power system networks is required.

Able to approach complex problems methodically and find effective solutions applying innovative thinking you will possess strong IT literacy with extensive experience in using data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Excel to create clear and insightful visual presentations of data.

With strong skills in presenting data findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders you will have an ability to think critically about data and its implications with excellent attention to detail in ensuring accuracy in data analysis and reporting.

Experience in database management systems such as SAP Service Now Platform user experience would be an advantage programming languages such as Python and SQL for data manipulation statistical analysis and data visualisations is desirable.

A basic awareness of asset management systems and the ISO 55000 framework and a commitment to developing understanding of the regulatory requirements impacting on SP Energy Networks including the NIS regulations is required.

Occasional travel within the UK and/or Europe is needed to attend training or industry events.
