About the role
Join our team building the Statista Connect API - a high-performance customer-facing API delivering data at scale. We need a senior engineer who takes ownership works independently and leads by example. Youll be at the center of our data platform collaborating with multiple teams while driving technical decisions that impact millions of users.
Your tasks
Design and build scalable customer-facing APIs using Rust and TypeScript (AWS Lambda)
Own data modeling data flows and API reliability across our AWS infrastructure
Implement Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK) and drive CI/CD improvements
Collaborate with data search and product teams to advance our API products
Mentor colleagues and shape technical direction through strong judgment and communication
Your profile
3 years building scalable backend systems and APIs
Strong experience with AWS (Lambda API Gateway EventBridge SQS/SNS) and AWS CDK
Solid programming in Rust TypeScript or similar languages (C/C Python)
Experience designing APIs for external customers
Ownership mindset: you anticipate problems work independently and communicate proactively
Comfortable with Docker Git testing and fast-moving environments
Nice to have: Rust in production event-driven architectures DynamoDB AI/ML experience
