Description:

The Regional Nurse Educators leads nursing clinical education for the region. This role ensures education programs are consistent across all locations by working closely with administrators Directors of Nursing Learning & Development Clinical Operations and Operations. The director identifies regional education needs sets priorities and designs and delivers training to strengthen nursing knowledge skills and consistent care practices.

POSITION SUMMARY

Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within TSLC. Supports communities and their colleagues through coaching and mentoring to help achieve optimum standard of excellence.
Addresses issues of concern through courageous conversation and notifies community leadership and/or supervisor of any interactions requiring attention.
Creates an environment that drives clinical capability and enhanced skills through education Participate in community survey readiness by proactively identifying opportunities that warrant ongoing clinical education/in-services for colleagues within region served.
Supports and participates in the survey readiness process as educator during real-time plan of correction or past non-compliance needs as needed.
Identifies need for education opportunities within the region designs lesson plans coordinates and conducts sessions and evaluates the effectiveness of training and utilization of information.
Provides leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the clinically related in-service education programs for the region and communities within assigned geographic region Plan develop direct evaluate coordinate and/or conduct clinical educational and on-the-job training programs within the region and as a contributing member of the THSC team.
Demonstrates knowledge of computer applications serves as a regional support resource for clinical automation systems and informs others of information resources.
Collaborates with administrators directors of nursing clinical operations and director of learning and development to establish priorities and develop a six month education plan to address unplanned readmissions to hospital enhance clinical inventory capabilities and improve care delivery systems thereby optimizing survey/regulatory outcomes. Participates in community regional and organization-wide collaboratives and quality assurance process improvement activities as necessary.
Participates in Mission Driven Quality Improvement (MDQI) to have knowledge of identified trends and needs for action plans that may require education within the region as needed.
Champions nursing job specific orientation clinical skills validation and preceptor programs within the region. Leads and is instrumental in organizing developing and conducting new hire clinical orientation. Coordinates orientation in conjunction with Human Resources to ensure cohesiveness between general and clinical orientation according to THSC standards.
Remains current in evidence based nursing practices. Identifying learning needs associated with new policies procedures equipment etc. Direct the preparation scheduling and selection of instructional material equipment and training aids to ensure that a modern meaningful in-service program is provided. Communicates clinical professional standards and educational performance/status to job related goals to director of learning and development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or Current Registered Nurse with a valid license current unencumbered and active to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a teaching or instructor position with experience planning and developing new programs preferred.
  • Must be eligible or willing to obtain qualifications to coordinate a State Approved Certified Nurse Aide Training program.
  • Comfortable with use of Media Equipment Must lead by example and possess superior customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced customer driven environment. Interpersonal skills to drive collaboration commitment and productivity when working with cross-functional teams customers and end users. Self-starter highly motivated with high energy level.
