About the Biology of Adversity Project (BAP)
The Biology of Adversity Project (BAP) is a collaborative initiative at the Broad Institute focused on uncovering how adversity (e.g. fear deprivation enrichment) leaves molecular imprints on the genome that shape health and disease. BAP is funded through a generous donation and uses these resources to bring together experts in neuroscience developmental biology immunology genomic technologies and computational biology to study these molecular records across tissues and at scale.
Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Associate to join the Buenrostro Lab as part of the Biology of Adversity Project. The Postdoctoral Associate will reveal mechanisms that connect life experience and environmental stressors with molecular and cellular dysfunction. To pursue this work the candidate will have access to cutting-edge single-cell and spatial genomic technologies as well as opportunities for co-mentorship and collaboration across BAP-affiliated labs spanning diverse biological disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead independent and collaborative research into the molecular mechanisms by which adversity influences the healthy functions of cells
- Apply and develop advanced molecular single-cell and spatial genomics techniques
- Integrate findings across tissues and systems in collaboration with affiliate labs in neuroscience immunology developmental biology and genomic technologies
- Present results in internal meetings and external conferences; contribute to manuscripts and grant proposals
Qualifications
- 0 years of post-graduate experience
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology Neuroscience Developmental Biology Cell Biology Immunology or a related field
- Experience with genomics preferred
