Business Studies Role in a Developing Academy

A secondary academy in Walsall is seeking to appoint a Business Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that is continuing to develop its Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 provision in Business Studies.

The subject is growing in popularity and the school is keen to appoint a teacher who can support student progress and contribute to the development of the curriculum.

About the Role

You will teach Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that cover key areas such as marketing finance operations and enterprise. Lessons will focus on applying theoretical knowledge to real-world business contexts.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations supporting them in developing analytical skills and structured written responses.

The role includes working collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and ensure consistency in teaching and assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5

• Deliver lessons covering core business topics

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations

• Assess student work and provide structured feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Contribute to curriculum planning and development

• Support positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

• Participate in departmental and school activities

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS4 Business

• Strong classroom management skills

• Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Business

• Experience supporting GCSE and A-Level examination preparation

• Ability to contribute to enterprise or enrichment activities
