A successful and welcoming secondary school in Gloucester is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Second in Religious Studies to join its dedicated Humanities team as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an excellent Religious Studies teacher who is ready to take the next step in their career. The role would suit someone with strong classroom experience who is keen to develop leadership skills while continuing to teach engaging and thought-provoking lessons.
You will work closely with the Head of Department to help lead Religious Studies across the school support curriculum development and inspire students to think critically about religion ethics philosophy and the wider world.
About the Role
As Second in Religious Studies you will:
Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4
Have the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience
Support the Head of Department with curriculum planning and departmental development
Help monitor student progress teaching standards and outcomes within the department
Deliver engaging lessons that encourage discussion curiosity and critical thinking
Support students in achieving strong academic results
Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as debate clubs trips guest speakers and themed events
Help maintain high expectations strong behaviour standards and a love of learning
