Technical lead for an active portfolio of tooling fixture lifting device and automation improvement projects at a high volume commercial vehicle assembly plant. Own design output from concept through release. Interface directly with plant operations quality and manufacturing engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end to end design: tooling lifting assists ergonomic fixtures automation Develop 3D models drawings and BOMs (Siemens NX preferred) Support vision based quality system integration Conduct design reviews with plant engineering & operations Manage multi project workload in fast paced production environment Coordinate and direct offshore design support resource Mentor junior onsite engineer
Required Qualifications
10 years manufacturing/industrial design engineering Automotive commercial vehicle or heavy equipment assembly environment Fixture & tooling design ergonomic lift assists process improvement Siemens Teamcenter preferred and Siemens NX experience required ASME BTH 1 or similar lifting device standards experience Vision system / automation line integration experience Strong GD&T and engineering drawing skills Ability to work independently onsite at a manufacturing facility
Preferred Qualifications
Class 6-8 truck bus or commercial vehicle manufacturing Lean / Six Sigma experience Experience leading small design teams or offshore coordination
