Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Project Leader Engineer III to work on-site with our client in Newton NC. This is a contract opportunity supporting manufacturing capacity expansion equipment installation and production line integration efforts.
Position Summary
The Project Leader Engineer III will support and lead mechanical aspects of manufacturing expansion projects including new equipment installation line setup and debug. This role works closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure successful execution of capital projects and readiness for operational handoff.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support equipment installation startup and debug activities for manufacturing capacity expansion
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering operations maintenance and vendors
Develop and execute project plans ensuring milestones and timelines are met
Design and implement mechanical solutions to improve equipment performance and manufacturing capability
Identify and resolve technical issues through data analysis and root cause investigation
Support new equipment and process introductions including continuous improvement initiatives
Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure project scope cost and schedule are maintained
Develop and maintain engineering and operational documentation
Support training of operations personnel on new equipment and process changes
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with engineering standards
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
3 5 years of experience in:
Equipment installation
Manufacturing engineering
Capital project execution
Experience in manufacturing environments (not lab-based)
Experience with equipment startup and debug
Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD Inventor SolidWorks)
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
Experience troubleshooting equipment and process issues
Ability to work in fast-paced multi-priority environments
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred:
Project leadership or project management experience
Experience managing vendors and suppliers
Knowledge of equipment design and system interactions
Strong data-driven problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Work Environment
Manufacturing plant environment in Newton and Hickory NC
Frequent collaboration with engineering teams operations and vendors
Overtime and off-hours support may be required during key project phases
