General Sales Manager BevCarb (Full-Time) - Brampton ON

Primary Purpose
The General Sales Manager of our BevCarb (Beverage Carbonation) is responsible to lead the sales team from coast to coast with full P&L accountability. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing this position is responsible to ensure that budgeted sales margin and OP goals are met or exceeded for the area of responsibility.

The GSM will work closely with their team of Territory Managers as well as a network of branches distribution hubs operations teams and back office staff. This position will champion growth across the country and ensure effective engagement in all growth programs and strategies with their team. The GSM is also responsible for leading a culture of safety and productivity to ensure business objectives for the Packaged Gas Business are met.

This is a replacement position with a starting salary of $126000 which may be adjusted depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver annual business plan results focusing on safety revenue variable margin operating profit and working capital.
  • Manage the BevCarb national account portfolio ensuring exceptional service and relationship management for high-profile multi-location accounts across Canada.
  • Lead the BevCarb team through modernization and change by adapting strategies and approaches to achieve growth targets and meet evolving business needs.
  • Build credibility and relationships within the organization through a hands-on field-oriented approach including regular visits to branch and office locations to deepen your knowledge of the people and the business.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop business strategies that leverage Lindes value-added solutions driving profitable sales growth and promoting superior customer service for both existing and new clients.
  • Coach motivate and support the sales team to achieve their respective territory objectives.
  • Participate actively in key customer contract negotiations forging strong relationships with major customers through joint calls
  • Work with the back-office teams and distribution teams to ensure operational discipline to achieve flawless customer service
  • Support College brew programs and various Trade Shows
  • Interaction with Suppliers for new products and technologies/applications
  • Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and stay abreast of new emerging markets trends (both in Canada and globally) economic trends and market conditions
  • Lead by example and establish a high standard for a positive inclusive team culture.
  • Inspire collaboration and team selling leveraging all teams and other Linde assets to optimize business results
  • Develops deep relationships with key stakeholders across the customer organization and facilitates strategies to enable other Linde team members to do the same
  • Support the management and mitigation of identified account risks and reduction of customer churn
  • Focus on key performance indicators through management of various review functions

Required Qualifications:

  • High level of knowledge and experience in the beverage / packaged gases industry is ideal with sales experience to similar end users
  • French Bilingual an asset
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success managing a large team toward the achievement of top and bottom-line growth objectives in a highly competitive market
  • Previous P&L management experience is essential
  • Experience in a value added/solutions selling environment and experience working with and through a large distributor/branch/retail network would be an asset
  • Well defined Leadership qualities creativity the ability to learn and adapt quickly and a strong strategic mindset
  • Hands-on visible leadership style - able to thrive in a no-nonsense people focused environment while also demonstrating strong strategic oversight and decision quality.
  • Proven communication and presentation skills able to communicate clearly to all levels including upper management customers staff and the general public.
  • Strong Prioritization skills based on metric and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail time management and ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Word Excel Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • Degree in business or engineering preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver license.
  • Travel (30% travel required)
