Job Title: Heavy Haul Truck Driver (Travel Required)

Location: Based out of Winchester IN with frequent regional travel to project sites

Position Summary:
Cobalt Civil is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Haul Truck Driver to support the transportation of construction equipment and materials to and from active job sites. This role involves frequent travel to project locations but does not include traditional over-the-road (OTR) or long-haul trucking. Drivers will operate primarily within project regions working closely with field crews to ensure timely and efficient mobilization of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate heavy haul trucks including lowboys flatbeds and specialized trailers
• Transport construction equipment such as excavators dozers loaders and other oversized loads
• Load secure and unload equipment in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
• Coordinate with site supervisors and field teams on delivery schedules and site logistics
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
• Assist with equipment staging and general support on job sites as needed
• Adhere to all federal state and local transportation regulations
• Travel regularly to project sites staying overnight as required

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record
• Proven experience hauling heavy equipment and oversized loads
• Strong knowledge of load securement and DOT regulations
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently and stay overnight during project assignments
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with construction equipment preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Travel-based role supporting active construction projects
• Primarily regional travel within Indiana Michigan and Ohio (not long-haul/OTR)
• Schedule may vary based on project needs including occasional extended hours
• Combination of driving and on-site support work
