Overview

Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is a medium-sized rural health service that delivers a range of programs and services including acute subacute residential aged care and allied and primary health care services. KDHS has three campuses located in the townships of Kyabram Stanhope and Tongala.

Responsibilities will include:

• Overall care of patients during their stay inclusive of Medical Oncology Clinic and Oncology Day Unit (as relevant)
• Provide safe administration of antineoplastic drugs and other related therapies medications and blood products
• Liaison with Medical Oncologists General Practitioners Pathology and Medical Imaging providers Allied Health and Specialist Nursing staff for patient care and ongoing management
• Provide safe care and management of Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD)
• Undertake supportive care screening and assessment of patient and family needs and facilitate appropriate referrals

Desirable Skills/Qualifications for Cancer Services

• Completion of eviQ Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course
• Peter MacCallum chemotherapy Module 1 or equivalent
• Advanced Life Support Certificate
• IV Cannulation & Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) competency

Previous experience within a similar role and/or completion of chemotherapy nursing course will be highly regarded.
