Your work environment at EXP
We are seeking a Process EngineerinTraining (EIT) to join our Mining Group. Reporting to a Senior or Lead Process Engineer the successful candidate will support a variety of mining and minerals processing projects contributing to engineering design analysis and field activities while developing technical expertise under professional supervision.
This role is ideal for an earlycareer engineer looking to build a strong foundation in process engineering within the mining sector with exposure to both officebased design work and site activities.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Assisting with process simulations and evaluations for mining and minerals processing applications
- Developing and reviewing heat and material balances
- Preparing and updating Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Performing hydraulic calculations for slurry water and process systems
- Assisting with the preparation of equipment process data sheets
- Supporting the development of instrument process data
- Participating in relief analysis and assisting with pressure safety valve (PSV) sizing under supervision
- Traveling to client or site locations to participate in field walkdowns data collection and coordination with project teams
- Supporting collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders
What your experience looks like
- Bachelors degree in Mining or Chemical Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited university
- Registered as an EngineerinTraining (EIT) and in good standing
- Strong understanding of chemical and process engineering fundamentals
- Exposure to or academic experience with:
- Mass and energy balances
- PFDs and P&IDs
- Hydraulic calculations
- Equipment and instrumentation data sheets
- Familiarity with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or similar tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative learningoriented mindset
This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.
The salary range for this role is between$61K - $82K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location.
