SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Special Education and Early Childhood Services will provide mentoring coaching and training for Health Care Staff (Health Clerks LPNs 1:1 LPNs and RNs) in both group and one-on-one settings. Assists the executive director with program planning hiring and management ensuring compliance with district and state requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedule and provide oversight of monthly interdisciplinary staff meetings assist with safety meetings nursing services team building goalsetting and professional development.
- Directs and develops Health Care Staff (Health clerks LPNs 1:1 LPNs and RNs) by creating schedules sub coverage providing guidance consultation and mentorship and answering health-related questions. Evaluates Health Care Staff.
- Develops and maintains school health care guidelines by creating and updating district procedures and practice documents and providing input for board policy changes.
- Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting district local and state guidelines for student health care.
- Collaborating with RNs to address health-related concerns that require district support beyond the building level.
- Maintains Health Care Staff by recruiting selecting orienting and training new Health Care Staff.
- Supports Health Care Staff by coaching and mentoring and evaluating their performance.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among Health Care Staff by communicating information and leading team-building activities.
- Ensure maintenance of program statistics and health care services data including health and immunization data.
- Collaborate with district RNs to implement mandated school health screenings.
- Train Health Care Staff or coordinate training in the following areas including but not limited to: immunization compliance health record keeping administration of first aid/universal precautions medications administration communicable disease reporting and exposure notices and CPR and First AID administration.
- Coordinates and assists programs related to school safety to include district Safety Committee Meeting participation.
- Coordinates training for Health Care Staff in FERPA and public records compliance procedures.
- Responsible for administration and monitoring of the CPSD Health Services Medicaid billing program.
- Assists the Executive Director and RNs with district 504 Plan compliance.
- Assists the Executive Director in ensuring compliance to federal state program and agency regulations such as Puget Sound ESD state health department reporting requirements Child Protective Service reporting requirements and emergency preparedness program as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree in nursing.
- Three years prior experience in school nursing clinical care coordination or a similar healthcare management role is preferred.
- Nurse ESA and NCSN certification preferred.
- Knowledge of local health regulations and educational policies.
- Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification and Licenses
- Current Valid Washington State RN License in good standing.
- Successful fingerprint and background check.
- First Aid/CPR card within ninety (90) days from date of hire.
- Proof of physical examination including TB skin test must be on file. For those who have tested positive a statement from a doctor or a chest x-ray must be provided.
- Valid Washington State drivers license and proof of insurance.
- Documents needed to obtain access to Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) in accordance with the REAL ID Act.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a regular office and school environments. Travel to and between school sites is necessary. Must be able to use fingers hands and arms and to listen carefully and focus while filtering out normal office noise. Ability to speak and see clearly; sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; lift 35 pounds; and bend twist walk and reach requiring ordinary physical effort are all required. Expected to attend evening meetings. Exposure to normal levels of office dust VDT screens and office machines and their required chemicals are part of the job. Maybe exposed to ill or infected students as part of the job. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and is exposed to infectious diseases carried by children.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
