We are currently working with a wellestablished engineering and manufacturing company to appoint a Buyer on a 12month fixedterm contract. This role will support procurement and supply chain activities across a busy production environment ensuring materials and components are sourced efficiently to meet operational requirements.
This is a flexible position offering adaptable working hours making it well suited to candidates seeking a strong worklife balance within a structured contract role.
Key Responsibilities
Placing and managing purchase orders in line with operational demand
Liaising with suppliers to confirm pricing availability and delivery schedules
Monitoring stock levels and supporting continuity of supply
Supporting cost control initiatives and valueformoney purchasing
Resolving supplier queries and delivery issues as they arise
Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
Working closely with internal teams including production and planning
The Person
Previous experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role (engineering or manufacturing environment preferred)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Confident using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
A proactive and detailfocused approach to procurement
