Legal Engineer

Chapman Tripp is looking for a motivated and curiousLegal Engineerto join our legal technology and AI team in Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity for someone in the early stages of their legal career with a strong interest in legal technology innovation and improving how legal work gets done.

About the role:

In this role you will support the development implementation and continuous improvement of legal technology tools workflows and systems used by our lawyers and business services teams.

You will work closely with legal practitioners knowledge teams AI specialists and technology professionals to help identify pain points improve processes support new tools and assist with training and adoption.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the design testing implementation and improvement of legal technology tools and solutions
• Assist with improving legal processes workflows and document-based tasks through technology and automation
• Work with lawyers and business services teams to identify opportunities for more efficient ways of working
• Help configure and maintain legal technology platforms templates workflows and internal tools
• Assist with user testing troubleshooting feedback gathering and quality assurance
• Prepare user guides training materials and process documentation
• Support training pilot programmes and roll-outs of new tools and systems
• Collaborate with teams across legal IT knowledge risk and operations

You will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in law or a related discipline
• Previous experience in a law firm legal team professional services environment or a role in legal tech/innovation or operations
• A strong interest in legal technology innovation and process improvement
• Strong analytical organisational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and a practical methodical approach
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

Desirable experience includes exposure to document automation workflow tools AI-enabled legal tools process mapping testing or user documentation.
