Local CDL-A Truck Driver

Location: Windsor Locks CT (250-mile operating radius)
Schedule: Full-time Early morning start (3:00 AM) ThursdayMonday or split days off
Compensation: $90000$100000 annually

Job Summary

A leading transportation provider is seeking experienced CDL-A drivers for a dedicated local account based out of Windsor Locks CT. This role offers consistent freight daily home time and strong earning potential. Drivers will deliver dry grocery products to supermarkets and distribution centers throughout the Northeast with a heavy focus on New York City routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate day cab tractor with 4553 ft trailers
• Deliver dry grocery products to retail locations and distribution centers
• Complete multi-stop routes (typically 23 stops per load)
• Handle deliveries in NYC boroughs and surrounding Northeast states
• Unload freight as needed using an electric pallet jack
• Pick up return products or backhauls as assigned
• Maintain a high level of customer service at delivery locations
• Comply with all safety and DOT regulations

Compensation & Pay Details

• $0.50$0.52 per mile
• Average annual earnings: $90000$100000
• NYC stop pay: $47.50 per stop
• Liftgate stop pay: $30 per stop
• Live unload pay: $17.25 per stop
• Drop and hook pay: $17.50 per stop
• Detention pay: $15/hour after 2 hours
• Safety training pay: $15/hour
• Off-account work: $160$450
• Weekly attendance incentive: $85/day (must work all scheduled days to qualify)

Equipment & Work Environment

• Automatic day cab trucks (average fleet age 3 years)
• Slip seating required
• Trucks cannot be taken home
• Some trailers equipped with lift gates (especially NYC routes)
• Drivers must provide their own transportation to and from the terminal

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• Minimum 3 months of recent driving experience
• Ability to operate in NYC boroughs regularly
• Comfortable with multi-stop deliveries and driver unload
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Good customer service and communication skills
