HVAC Technician JLL

What this job involves:

As an HVAC Technician at JLL you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the mechanical systems that keep our clients facilities running smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for monitoring troubleshooting and repairing complex HVAC refrigeration electrical and plumbing systems while ensuring all work is documented and compliant with safety standards. Your technical expertise and proactive approach to preventive maintenance will directly contribute to JLLs commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge building management systems and collaborate with a skilled engineering team dedicated to delivering innovative real estate solutions.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Monitor adjust and maintain refrigeration chilled water air conditioning equipment boilers ventilating and hot water heaters pumps valves piping filters and other mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Analyze system data (reliability service calls performance metrics) and develop recommendations with the Chief Engineer for maintenance changes upgrades or replacements
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment including assembling necessary tools minimizing disruption conducting immediate cleanup and completing task documentation
  • Install and repair plumbing piping tubing electrical wiring for single and three-phase motors pumps heat exchangers bearings seals valves filters and associated controls
  • Capture and document all repair and maintenance data (material costs contract labor costs JLL effort) on work orders and maintain up-to-date system documentation in a central resource location
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions determine root causes and take corrective action to restore systems to optimal performance
  • Maintain tools order supplies as needed and comply with departmental policies for safe storage usage and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workspace

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience working with mechanical systems
  • Two years of related trade schooling or equivalent technical training
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration license
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes
  • Proficiency with computer equipment building management systems (BMS) and work order systems
  • Ability to operate electric hand tools work on ladders and building roofs carry tools lift and carry heavy loads and operate required equipment and motor vehicles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong team collaboration skills and ability to cross-train backup personnel to advanced technical levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to complete detailed written documentation and reports
  • Analytical mindset with capability to review system performance data and recommend improvements
  • Experience assisting other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance projects
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and manage disruptions effectively during maintenance activities
