POSITION PURPOSE

The MRO Buyer is responsible for sourcing purchasing and managing inventory of maintenance repair and operating (MRO) supplies that support continuous operations within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the timely availability of critical parts equipment and services needed to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production. The MRO Buyer works closing with maintenance engineering finance and operations team to understand material requirements forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels. This position also manages vendor relationships negotiates pricing and contracts and ensures compliance with company procurement policies and budgetary guidelines. The scope of this role includes monitoring inventory usage maintaining accurate purchasing records and identifying cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality and reliability of supplied materials. The MRO Buyer plays a key role in supporting preventive maintenance programs and operational efficiency by ensuring the right materials are available as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITES

1. Follow all safety policies procedures and practices.
   1. Must keep work area clean and safe.
   2. Understanding and daily practice of 5S.
   3. Communicate with all Operations and Maintenance personnel.
2. Follow all food safety and consumer safety policies procedures and practices.
   1. Participate in GMP and food safety training.
   2. Reports all food safety concerns with urgency.
3. Source and procure MRO materials including spare parts tools equipment and supplies to support maintenance and operations.
4. Manage purchase orders and invoices for contracted services such as forklift repairs building repairs equipment specific vendors and contractors.
5. Manages scheduling and coordination of all inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and logistics partners.
6. Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records through CMMS systems.
7. Manage the full MRO purchasing cycle from quoting creating purchase order purchasing from vendor receiving the material or service ensure correct parts are received and closing the PO when invoice is received.
8. Provides necessary purchasing updates to the finance department.
9. Coordinate with production planning and customer service teams to align shipping priorities with operational demands
10. Resolve shipping delays discrepancies and transportation issues in a timely and effective manner
11. Perform other duties as required by management.

A broad base of current technical knowledge is required to ensure that standards are met and efficiencies are maintained. Problem solving and decision-making abilities are essential for success.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

- HS Diploma or GED equivalency preferred

- Certified Supply Chain Professional preferred

Experience/knowledge Required:

• 3 years experience of procurement sourcing or supply chain.
• 3 years experience with procurement software and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• 3 years experience with inventory control in a manufacturing or similar industry.
• Reading writing and basic math skills.
• Must be computer literate. Must have experience with Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of within the organization as well as outside the organization including suppliers/vendors and customers.
• Must have excellent organization time management and attention to detail skills.
