How youll contribute

A Behavioral Health Techwho excels in this role:

Under the supervision of nursing staff provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Reports to: Senior Behavioral Health Director

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provides or assists with providing direct patient care diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
  • Reports any changes in physical mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.

What were looking for

It is preferred that applicants have a Bachelors Degree - Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HSP)
  • 1 year of mental Health experience or education
  • 3 years mental Health
  • Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
