The Friendship Acceleration & College Engagement (FACE) Academy reimagines the traditional high school experience by creating personalized pathways that empower scholars to accelerate graduation earn college credit and explore career opportunities all while still in high school. Through FACE scholars engage in rigorous academic coursework participate in dual enrollment opportunities and gain real world exposure through internships job shadowing and structured career exploration. By their fourth year scholars enter the FACE Capstone Year where they may graduate early and transition directly to college complete significant dual enrollment coursework leading toward an associate degree or immerse themselves in career experiences that prepare them for the next stage of their journey. Responsibilities
- Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning that helps foster students intellectual social and emotional development.
- Provide daily instruction including clear learning outcomes well-designed lessons and high-quality assessments that align to Friendships curriculum and standards.
- Incorporate into lessons creative hands-on learning experiences that broaden students exposure and interests help foster student ingenuity and require application of knowledge and skills acquired through daily instruction.
- Provide a classroom environment that is visually appealing rich with resources aligned to curriculum and standards and honors students achievement with current and accurate displays of exemplary student work.
- Communicate to students to understand their talents interests and needs and to convey learning expectations and their progress toward meeting those expectations.
- Communicate regularly with families to identify students talents interests and needs and update parents regarding students achievements and progress.
- Collaborate with school-based staff and throughout the Friendship network in staff meetings regular analysis sessions and professional learning designed to enhance students learning experience and increase student achievement.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Commitment to providing a world-class education to students from historically underserved communities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the role
- Identified as in field
- Has a university degree in their field of teaching;
- Has an active certification in their field of teaching; and/or
- Has demonstrated at least one year of effective teaching in their field as measured by the LEAs teacher evaluation system.
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and/or continuing education
