The Senior Advisor position supports the NNSAs Office of the Associate Administrator and Chief of Defense Nuclear Security (DNS) which is responsible for the development and implementation of security programs for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) including the protection control and accounting of materials and for the physical and cyber security for all facilities of the Administration. The office provides engineering technical operational and administrative security support to the Administration to facilitate the effective implementation of security and advises the DOE Office of Environment Health Safety and Security (AU) on Departmental security policy. The office collaborates regularly with the DOE offices of Counterintelligence and the Chief Information Officer and the Department of Defense (DOD) the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the United Kingdoms Ministry of Defense.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Senior Advisor provides both technical and administrative expertise to support the DNS mission and functions.
- Contribute to the establishment of business cadences and internal practices to improve efficiency accountability and long-term operational effectiveness that are aligned with goals and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement internal controls and processes to enhance task oversight resource utilization and responsiveness to client needs.
- Support the preparation and dissemination of monthly status reports summarizing progress financial metrics and key milestones for stakeholder review.
- Maintain operations and continuity ensuring critical activities and deliverables continue without disruption.
- Successfully coordinate with external stakeholders including government agencies local communities and national partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly effective communication skills (written and oral) effective work in fluid fast-paced environment essential teamwork skills detail-oriented.
- An active DOE Q clearance or DOD Top Secret security clearance.
- Advanced degree in Business Engineering or Public Policy
Location: This is a casual part-time remote position.
Salary: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data internal equity and the candidates related knowledge skills and abilities for the position. The range for this position is 300k-335k.
