Yard Jockey

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Jockey to join our team. The Yard Jockey will be responsible for safely moving trailers to and from loading docks and designated yard locations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient warehouse and transportation operations by maintaining organized trailer flow and supporting dock operations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate yard truck to move trailers within the yard between docks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard trucks and trailers.
• Ensure trailers are properly secured and positioned at docks for loading and unloading.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer moves placements and yard inventory.
• Communicate with dispatchers warehouse staff and drivers to coordinate trailer movement.
• Follow all company policies DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Inspect and report any equipment defects damages or safety hazards immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness inside of trailers.
• Yard Maintenance
• Shed Maintenance

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Must have a valid REAL ID- Class A commercial drivers license.
• Experience operating a yard truck tractor-trailer or similar equipment.
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of yard safety rules and DOT regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb in and out of trucks frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Schedule:

• Sunday- Thursday; 9A-5P

Pay Rate:

• $23.00/HR
