Job Summary
The Faculty Practice Coordinator performs a variety of tasks including providing excellent customer/patient services via phone and in person; insurance verification and enters patient information into epic system.
Responsibilities
1. Provide clerical reception and telephone support
2. Manage faculty practice appointments schedule patients for providers check in and check out
3. Collect patient demographics and insurance information and enter into Epic system
4. Verify patients insurance coverage prior to patients appointment and advise patient of any insurance referrals needed
5. Acquire insurance authorizations if required
6. Prepare and collect completed new patient forms scan all documents and upload to EMR
7. Collect patient copayments/coinsurance/deductible/account balance post in the system and prepare TOS deposits for Sinai Central
8. May initiate reminder calls for next day appointments
9. May act as liaison with other administrative staff to address patient concerns or other coverage and billing issues
10. Review all visit related information in the system for charge accuracy
11. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of Medicaid Medicare and commercial insurance billing and ICD/CPT codes for psychiatry services preferred.
- 2-4 years administrative experience in health care practice environment
- Experience in appointment scheduling insurance verification patient check in/out registration work queue collecting copays obtaining authorizations.
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.60 - $28.22 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
