SUMMARY

Guards St. Labre property against fire theft vandalism and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labres right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

1. Patrols buildings and grounds of St. Labre including airstrip and park.

2. Examines doors windows and gates to determine that they are secure.

3. Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering speeding smoking or carrying forbidden articles and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.

4. Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.

5. Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards leaking water pipes and security doors left unlocked.

6. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.

7. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

8. Permits authorized persons to enter property.

9. Records data such as property damage unusual occurrences and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment for use of supervisory staff.

10. Operates the Kenco security system.

11. Reports all open doors windows and any incidents which may occur to his/her supervisor.

12. Serves and enforces all Notice of Trespass documents against named individuals ordered off the premises by the Executive Director of St. Labre.

13. Assists local law enforcement when problems such as vandalism substance abuse domestic violance and unacceptable behavior occurs in St. Labre housing units and/or on campus.

14. Assists security efforts at activities such as ballgames dances and other school related activities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in law enforcement and/or military background preferred.
