Rate of Pay: 302.05 - 415.48 per day
Summary:
This is a senior leadership role within Building Control responsible for managing enforcement functions ensuring compliance with building legislation and supporting the strategic development of the service. The role will lead on enforcement dangerous structures and regulatory compliance while building and managing a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Building Control enforcement function ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Oversee enforcement cases including court proceedings and liaison with legal teams
- Manage dangerous structures services including out-of-hours provision
- Supervise and mentor Building Inspectors (Class 2 & 3) ensuring compliance with standards and code of conduct
- Support the Head of Building Control in developing processes policies and service improvements
Qualifications:
- Valid Building Safety Regulator licence (Class 3 Specialist)
- Qualification aligned with the Building Inspector Competency Framework (HSE) or equivalent (e.g. CABE)
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience in building control including enforcement and compliance across a range of building types
- Strong knowledge of Building Act 1984 Building Regulations and Building Safety Act 2022
- Experience managing complex enforcement cases including legal proceedings
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
- Strong decision-making analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in inspections plan assessments and compliance monitoring
