- Full Time Position(Burns Harbor add Must be able to work 24/48 schedule)
- Must have a valid drivers license for at least one year
- Must have certification as Firefighter II (State of Indiana)
- Must have Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations
- Must have a current EMT or EMR certification - If you do not have EMT orEMRwe can put you in our next EMR class and discuss our probationary firefighter positions.
- Must have OSHA 10. If you do not have Osha 10 ask how to obtain it!
Allied Universalis currently looking forFirefighters.
The Firefighterposition will include but not limited to the following:
- Firefighters willbe responsible forthe response to all hazardous material incidents as well as rescue situations involving but not limited to confined space incidents aerial or high angle incidents water related incidents vehicle entrapment and equipment entrapment.
- Firefighters willbe responsible forthe response to all fire prevention and suppression activities of whatever kind or nature relating to structures buildings and other assetslocatedon the plant property.
- Firefighters will be expected toacquirea working knowledge of the fire detection suppression and transmission systems on the plant property including system operation system deactivation system support activities and system restoration.
- Firefighters willbe responsible forthe completion of various fire maintenance duties. These duties will include but not be limited to:
- the pickup refilling servicing delivery and required testing of plant fire extinguishers; low pressure hydrostatictesting;
- refilling SCBA
- inspection and recharging of C02 cartridges used in Ansul fire extinguish
- fire alarm systemtesting;
- hydranttesting;
- fire department connectioninspections;
- Hose reel inspections and any other reasonable fire maintenance related tasks.
- Firefighters willbe responsible forcompleting all fire firemaintenanceand fire system related reports associated with their work duties.
- Qualified applicants for theFirefighter position will meet theminimumrequirements as described below:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may beprior to employment
- Must have a clean criminal record.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen/background check.
- Individualmust be able to pass aStatelevel fit test and yearly NFPA Physical
- Must have Fire I & II Hazmat Awareness Hazmat Operations a valid EMT or EMR certification
