Job Summary: An Electrician is responsible for installing maintaining and repairing electrical systems wiring equipment and fixtures in homes commercial buildings and industrial settings. The Electrician will work with a variety of electrical components and systems ranging from basic wiring to more complex electrical systems such as lighting communication systems and security systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain electrical systems wiring equipment and fixtures according to local and national electrical codes
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards or defects and repair or replace as necessary
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and recommend solutions to customers
- Collaborate with other contractors and workers such as HVAC technicians and plumbers to complete projects
- Install and maintain lighting systems including LED lighting outdoor lighting and emergency lighting
- Install and maintain communication systems such as intercoms and fire alarm systems
- Install and maintain security systems including cameras and access control systems
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints diagrams and schematics
- Follow safety procedures and regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate with customers to explain electrical issues and provide estimates for repairs and installations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical systems
- Valid electricians license or certification according to state and local regulations
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes safety procedures and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams and schematics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials climb ladders and work in confined spaces
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Compensation: $24.00 - $42.00 per hour
