Infant Development Consultant (229270)
Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Accountable to the Program Coordinator and within the guidelines established by the Provincial Infant Development Steering Committee provides services to developmentally delayed infants and their families that facilities the development of the infant and meets the needs of the families. The Consultant will have an assigned caseload.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Bachelors Degree from a university in Infant or Early Childhood Development/Education or Child Care or the paediatric equivalent such as Nursing Occupational Therapy Physiotherapy or Psychology. At least two years professional experience in a related community-based setting involving infant and family services. Valid Class 5 vehicle license required.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing including the ability to lead the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to deal with others effectively including other members of the multi-disciplinary team and community resources.
- Ability to act as a team model for staff.
- Ability to organize work and work independently.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
