Job Summary
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (School-Based)
Location: Cicero Illinois
Duration: 42 Weeks (Contract School Year)
Shift: Day Shift Monday to Friday (8:00 AM 3:30 PM)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide in-person therapeutic services to students. The ideal candidate will support student development by addressing physical sensory and motor skill challenges that impact academic performance and daily functioning.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in a school setting
- Collaborate with teachers parents and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Implement interventions to improve fine motor skills sensory processing and daily living skills
- Maintain accurate documentation including progress notes and evaluations
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal setting
- Ensure compliance with school policies and state regulations
Required Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License (required at time of submission)
- Previous school-based experience required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with children of varying needs and age groups
