Background:
Up to 85% of Air Force fighter aircrew surveyed reported some type of spine discomfort during their career. The OHWS program is designed to meet the unique physical needs of the rated fighter aircrew. Conditioning is accomplished through a comprehensive coordinated multidisciplinary pre-habilitative physical training program with focused strength and conditioning physical therapy massage therapy and athletic training.
Period of Performance (PoP):
The Period of Performance shall be 1 Base Year of 12 months and four (4) 12-month option years.
Mandatory Requirements:
Strength and Conditioning Specialist: Should possess a Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in an accredited exercise science health science or physical education-related discipline. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist is desired. The Contractor shall possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or possess a CrossFit Level 2 or greater certification. Maintenance of this certification shall be an enduring element of the requirement. Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is desired. Creditable specialized experience includes: developing long and short- range planning and coordination of sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with elite athletes (e.g. Division I collegiate Olympic professional level athletes or SOF- specific tactical professionals. Contractor must be able to lift and manipulate loads and plates up to 55 pounds each.
U.S. Citizenship:
Employee must be a U.S. citizen. For the purpose of base and network access possession of a permanent resident card (Green Card) does not equate to U.S. citizenship.
Place of Performance:
Montgomery Alabama supporting the 187th Flight Wing.
Schedule:
The contractor shall provide services based on a 30 hours per week schedule. Contractor shall provide service during normal operation hours Tuesday Friday during the periods of 8:00 AM 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM 4:30 PM. During night-flying weeks hours of operation shall be 12:00 PM 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM 8:30 PM. Flex hours may be requested up to one weekend per month during drill weekends. Weekend hours will be 8:00 AM 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday except on recognized US holidays or when the Government facility/installation is closed due to local or national emergencies administrative closings or similar Government-directed facility/installation closings. Performance shall be at Building 1303. The contractor shall at all times maintain an adequate work force for the uninterrupted performance of all tasks defined within this PWS when the Government facility/installation is not closed for the above reasons. When hiring personnel the contractor shall keep in mind that the stability and continuity of the work force are essential. Teleworking is not authorized.
