Quality Process Technician, Day Shift

Build your Career with an Industry LeaderProcess Tech will possess the ability to analyze and provide fast responses to the operators to ensure products remain in spec support technical development and help solve problems both in our own facilities as well as at customer locations. Process Tech will report directly to the Quality Manager. This person is responsible for production product conformity both leading and supporting projects assigned by Quality Manager PSL Technical Director or General Manager within the Opticoat group. Support customer and MCC sponsored New Product Development projects and participate with group members in developing new opportunities for Pressure Sensitive platforms. Provide technical support to manufacturing on product development initiatives and internal efficiency improvements. Some of this role may be spent on-site with a customer so it will also require demonstrating a growing level of expertise running our materials at MCC printing facilities and external customer work at MCC:Compensation: $21.00 p/hGenerous benefits package including medical dental vision disability life insurance and 401(k)Paid Holidays: New Years Memorial Day Fourth of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day plus two floating HolidaysResponsibilities:Technical support requires both proactive and reactive interactions with Purchasing Technical and Coater and/or support plant quality cost and efficiency improvements through the design of trials and experiments conducting trials and experiments and laboratory quality lab and technical assessments of product performance and complete comparative analysis with competitive products in marketInteract on a continuing basis with Elkton Customer Service/Planning Manufacturing and Sales in dealing with new or existing products working closely to translating customer requirements into internal specifications and raw material in product development initiatives through coater trial support and customer visits. Role will also spend some time leading specific initiatives under the direction of PSL Technical lab / testing equipment up to and including calibrations to ensure accuracy in proper testing records for quick research and to communicate effectively and quickly to coating or slitting team when products do not meet the raw material complaints (SNAR) and trackInvestigate and provide feedback to our customers for root cause and corrective coated rolls on quality hold and escalate for proper usage or in special projects and performs other duties as has been around over 100 years and we pride ourselves on our high level of excellence. Every team member of MCC is expected to treat all associates respectfully and :2- or 4-year college degree; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and including Algebra skills are essential. Demonstrated knowledge of container styles and printing/ converting materials and technologies related to package considerations:Occasional lifting of rolls / samples weighing up to 40-45 lbs may be Tech is required to work around the coating and slitting. Safety shoes may be required at times when visiting customer visits work hours may require attendance on all shifts at times.
