| Job Description: | Management and administration of the Core General Surgery Residency Program Education and Assessment Responsibilities for the Department of Surgery. Assists with the preparation for ACGME requirements for the residency program and assists the Program Director and Associate Program Director in their efforts to meet these goals. Coordinates and plans all ACGME required meetings including the Clinical Competency Committee meetings Program evaluation committee meetings and application review committee meetings. Attends regular meetings with PD APDs and residents for check-ins throughout the academic year. Assists the primary General Surgery Coordinator with the collection and submission of all required documentation on an annual semi-annual or monthly basis to the Graduate Medical Education office for the core General Surgery program. Reviews and monitors all duty hour submissions and documentation for the 50 residents in the General Surgery Program.
Responsible for EPA data management for all surgery residents and maintain graduation data. Assists in the planning and execution of a robust two-week orientation schedule for interns (Gen Surg Urology OMFS and Integrated Plastics and TCV) prior to starting. This includes creating the schedule with faculty involvement setting up individual labs or lectures and purchasing of materials or food as needed. Coordinates and attends weekly didactic sessions. Assists the PD and APD in developing the curriculum schedule and sends out reminders for each event. Assists with the implementation of Surgical courses both onsite and offsite. These include ASSET ATOM and cadaver labs. Transplant Fellowship Management Responsible for the recruitment onboarding and oversight of the transplant fellows. Assists with the US Nationals and International medical grads in the process of getting medical licenses onboarded and credentialed at the hospital to perform transplant surgery training. Works with the program director and GME office to make sure the Transplant fellowship remains in compliance with institutional regulations and ASTS accreditation requirements.
Assists with the documentation preparation and planning for general surgery residents to rotate at international sites. Manages the PLA Process ABS and ACGME approval process and assists with the travel process. Communicates with international sites to assist international residents and medical students to rotate within the Department of Surgery. Administrative Assists in the training of incoming members of the education team as they learn the financial systems such as UF GO. Coordinate schedules distribute and collect evaluations and maintain attendance records for CME-awarding regularly scheduled conference series. Assist residents/fellows/medical students with their other training and educational needs when appropriate. |
