Finance Assistant High Hurstwood CE Primary School

At High Hurstwood we believe that behind every thriving classroom is a well-managed school office. We are looking for an organised proactive and personable Finance Assistant to join our team for 2 days a week 8am4pm (days to be negotiated this could also be split into a 3-day shift to work around school drop-offs etc.).

This role is vital to the smooth running of our school. You will work closely with our Business Manager to pay invoices order school resources assist in the preparation of school accounts use Arbor to manage financial administration of school trips manage daily financial functions and ensure our resources are effectively accounted for. Your work directly enables our teachers to teach and our students to learn.

What Youll Bring to the Team

We are looking for a candidate who is as comfortable with people as they are with numbers. You will need:

  • Financial Flair: Basic knowledge and experience of budget management monitoring accounting techniques and reconciliation.
  • Operational Excellence: The ability to plan and organise a varied workload maintain efficient record-keeping systems and use technology effectively (such as Microsoft 365).
  • Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with a range of people in a clear concise and accurate manner providing advice in accurate spoken English.
  • Team Spirit: A desire to support the Business Manager in financial and administrative functions maintain confidentiality with sensitivity and become an integral part of school life.


Desirable: A recognised qualification in financial administration or related experience in a similar field.
