Job Summary:

SRLLP is seeking an experienced Environmental and Archaeological Project Manager to support ongoing Trans Mountain pipeline construction activities and oversee investigation activities for a newly proposed Trans Mountain project.

This is a project-term leadership role responsible for:

  • Providing environmental project management services on active pipeline construction projects
  • Acting as SRLLPs point of contact and communication conduit between Trans Mountain and construction teams on environmental matters
  • Supporting the execution of a large-scale multi-crew archaeological assessment program including staff onboarding field resource planning and coordination and liaising with key project personnel and Trans Mountain representatives

The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of construction environmental compliance and cultural resource management ensuring safe compliant and efficient project delivery aligned with SRLLP values and Simpcw stewardship priorities. Health and safety are core values at Simpcw Resources Group. This role is expected to demonstrate strong leadership in safety regulatory compliance and field execution.

Responsibilities:

Environmental Management Pipeline Construction

  • Provide environmental oversight and coordination for Trans Mountain construction activities.
  • Act as SRLLPs environmental lead interfacing with Trans Mountain representatives contractors and inspectors.
  • Support implementation of environmental management plans mitigation measures and permit conditions during construction.
  • Monitor environmental performance and compliance including erosion and sediment control watercourse protection and site-specific mitigation.
  • Coordinate environmental reporting issue tracking and resolution of non-compliance events.
  • Participate in construction meetings planning sessions and daily/weekly coordination calls.
  • Support integration of environmental requirements into construction sequencing and execution.

Archaeological Project Management

  • Support the collaborative management and execution of the Trans Mountain Mainline Optimization Project Archaeological Impact Assessment.
  • Oversee field execution including mobilization logistics staffing and equipment coordination for aspects of the shovel and auger testing program supported by SRLLP (e.g. field technicians field supervisors equipment operators safety personnel).
  • Coordinate with HSE personnel to ensure training onboarding and safety documentation requirements are met.
  • Coordinate multiple field crews (up to 10 concurrent crews) and ensure alignment with productivity targets and client priorities.
  • Support deployment of crews operating on rotational schedules (e.g. 10-days-on / 4-days-off).
  • Track project scope schedule budget and monitor productivity metrics and adjust field execution strategies as required.
  • Provide regular updates to Trans Mountain partners and internal leadership on progress risks and findings.
  • Ensure timely delivery of client submissions (e.g. time tickets progress reports) and other daily reporting requirements (e.g. field reports timesheets safety documentation).
  • Ensure compliance with ISNetworld (ISN) site safety protocols and regulatory safety standards.
  • Support adaptive planning in response to weather access or findings.
  • Coordinate as appropriate with Indigenous Communities and Nations including Simpcw First Nation on archaeological matters specific to the project.
  • Support Trans Mountain in addressing regulatory and stakeholder inquiries related to environmental and archaeological scopes


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Science Biology Ecology Geography Archaeology or a related field.
  • 10 years of combined experience in environmental consulting construction environmental management cultural resource management or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience working on pipeline or large infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing complex multi-disciplinary field programs and coordinating multiple crews.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations permitting and compliance in British Columbia.
  • Experience with archaeological programs or cultural resource management is a strong asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Nations and integrating stewardship priorities is highly valued.
  • Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments including active construction sites
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license is required
