WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor

Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Breastfeeding Coordinator the Peer Counselor will develop supportive relationships with women to improve the likelihood that expectant mothers will decide to nurse their infants and use peer counselors expertise after their infants birth.

- Has breastfed at least one baby (does not have to be currently breastfeeding)
- Is enthusiastic about breastfeeding and wants to help other mothers enjoy a positive experience
- Can work at least 5-10 hours per week
- Ability to respond to phone or text messages outside of assigned work hours
- Valid drivers license
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to travel among Jefferson and Lewis Counties and for training
