Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineerto join our team supporting the Eastbourne site.
The main role will be to understand incorporate and manage our Clients requirements into company-wide used data by means of Product Data Management (PDM) Bill of Materials (BoMs) and Drawing/information management. Perform basic modelling and assembly activities in CAD software to ensure pump designs and selection is correct.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and configure Bills of Materials (BoMs) for new orders while identifying risks understanding gaps and managing activities for proper engineering of new products.
- Collaborate with various departments such as Supply Chain Customer Service and Sales to address engineering-related issues and provide technical guidance.
- Monitor project targets report issues and utilize innovative problem-solving initiatives to support business growth.
- Conduct business development and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying root causes and implementing preventive solutions.
- Manage expectations of both internal and external customers to ensure satisfaction and effective communication.
- Perform 3D modelling and assembly in Siemens NX create high-quality manufacturing drawings and handle instrumentation and motor specifications for projects.
Qualifications
Key skills and qualifications
- Qualified mechanical engineer (HNC or degree level) with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanical engineering role.
- Proven analytical skills with a track record of developing robust engineering solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating a drive to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and visualize opportunities for improvement and problem-solving.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD preferably Siemens NX with electrical experience related to motors and instrumentation.
- Desirable skills include ERP/MRP experience familiarity with JD Edwards and Team Center and a sound understanding of fluid handling and design control.
