Production Operative

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods.

Kepak St. Merryn in Bodminis a beef processing facility. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers counters to branded packaged meat all as part of our service; raised on open pastures sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers we produce beef products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join the team as a Production Operative and Humper at our Bodmin site.

This is a full time permanent position working in our Slaughtering Department. Starting at 6.30am and working until production finishes Monday to Friday with a salary of 12.75 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Scribe and split beef into quarters and rehang hind quarters as directed by their supervisor to customer specification.
• Be able to Lift weights and be able to move around the factory floor without assistance for the shift duration
• Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to up
• Perform all prestart hygiene and safety checks as directed
• Report all breakages damages or defaults of equipment to the Line Supervisor ensuring all equipment/machinery is only used when it is safe to use. Record checks as and when directed
• Ensure that the product is of the highest standard and report any issues to the Line supervisor immediately
• Reporting any accidents or near misses is expected and assistance with any investigation is a prerequisite of the Companys safety policy
• Always adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Act in a responsible manner following all safety regulations; safe work practices SOPs TBRAs and never risking ones own safety.
• Ensure compliance with PPE policies and procedures
• Other duties will be part of the role from time to time this will be specified by your direct line Supervisor.
• Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product equipment packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.

• Previous experience in a similar role within the food production industry is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Understanding of and commitment to following health and safety regulations.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
