We are seeking an academically focused and socially conscious Economics Teacher to join a premier Sixth Form College. In this post-16 setting you will guide young adults through the complexities of market dynamics and global policy preparing them for elite higher education and careers in one of the UKs most economically vibrant cities.

Core Responsibilities

  1. A-Level Academic Delivery: Teaching A-Level Economics (AQA Edexcel or OCR specifications) ensuring students master both microeconomic theories of the firm and macroeconomic policy frameworks.

  2. Quantitative Mastery: Leading students in the application of mathematical modeling and statistical analysis helping them interpret complex economic indicators and trends.

  3. HE & Career Mentorship: Providing expert guidance for UCAS applications including support for personal statements and preparation for competitive entrance exams like the TSA or ECAA.

  4. Economic Inquiry: Leading seminars that explore contemporary issuessuch as the economics of climate change regional inequality and the impact of digital currenciesbeyond the standard exam board specification.

  5. Assessment Excellence: Implementing rigorous mock examination cycles and providing granular feedback on essay structure and evaluative writing to ensure students achieve top-tier grades.


The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who can make the dismal science anything but. Requirements include:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS with a strong honours degree in Economics or a closely related discipline (e.g. Finance or PPE).

  • Subject Specialism: The ability to teach A-Level Economics with absolute confidence and a track record of achieving high value-added results.

  • Adult-Centered Approach: An understanding of the unique pastoral and academic needs of 1619 learners fostering an environment of independence and intellectual curiosity.

  • Analytical Rigor: A commitment to staying abreast of global economic developments and incorporating current events into daily teaching to bring the curriculum to life.
