A secondary school in Peterborough is seeking to appoint an English Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive team that is focused on improving literacy developing strong communication skills and supporting student progress across all ability levels.

English is a core subject within the school with structured schemes of work designed to support consistency in teaching and learning.

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 teaching a range of texts language skills and writing techniques. Lessons will focus on developing reading comprehension analytical skills and effective written communication.

You will also support students preparing for GCSE English Language and English Literature examinations helping them build confidence and exam technique.

Depending on experience there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver English lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Prepare students for GCSE English examinations

• Assess student work and provide structured feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Contribute to departmental planning and resources
