• Minimum 4 years experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g. hard trim soft trim IP door trims consoles headliners etc.)
• Minimum 4 years of knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems industry benchmarks trends and supplier capabilities
• Minimum 4 years experience creating improving or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP

Role

• Be a significant contributor to a world class Interior Components and Systems engineering team.
• Create industry leading Interior Components and Systems with groundbreaking luxury craftsmanship performance safety ergonomics and functionality.
• Contribute to the packaging engineering release and launch of Interior Components and Systems across the portfolio.
• Work collaboratively within a cross functional marketing design and vehicle engineering team prioritizing overall vehicle benefit above individual systems.
• Collaborate with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of Interior Components and Systems.
• Employ and develop effective tools and innovative approaches to support product development.

Qualifications

• 4 years of demonstrated experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g. hard trim soft trim IP door trims consoles headliners etc.).
• Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems industry benchmarks trends and supplier capabilities.
• Experience creating improving or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP.
• Proficiency in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings interior components and systems packaging layouts and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred).
• Vehicle and product launch experience.

• Profound knowledge of vehicle interior systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution
• Strong understanding of plastic part design structural performance manufacturing technologies craftsmanship ergonomics safety and homologation requirements
• Competency in materials selection plastic injection molding/DFM and GD&T
• A strong desire to create exceptional products as part of a highly capable team
• A practical hands on approach that complements theoretical knowledge
• Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills

Education

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
