Job Title: Senior Network Administrator
Location: Tallahassee Florida
Duration: 12 months (July 2026 June 2027)
We are hiring for the role of Senior Network Administrator. Below are the key details:
Role Overview
This is a full-time on-site contract role supporting a large-scale government IT environment. The consultant will work within a bureau that provides technical support to over 500 network users across multiple organizational divisions. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM ET.
Key Responsibilities

Follow established IT processes and coordinate with IT staff to ensure compliance with departmental standards

Work closely with IT groups and customers to define needs and objectives

Analyze and assess network infrastructure and operations

Recommend and implement policies and procedures for day-to-day network operations

Provide administration and management support of the enterprise network

Serve as a .NET developer on software application projects

Support the network and infrastructure team as directed

Develop standards procedures and documentation

Devise and recommend short and long-range plans for hardware and production system development and enhancement

Develop and enforce production standards and policies in conjunction with the senior network engineer and database administrator

Facilitate cross-unit IT communication and build partnerships to better serve business objectives

Maintain audit compliance for central data systems user accounts backup/disaster recovery and data center security

Work with the Information Security Manager to develop and enforce security standards aligned with Florida Cybersecurity rules NIST and Cobit 5 standards

Create and follow change management procedures for all network changes
Required Skills & Experience
-
10 years of experience as a Network Administrator

5 years of experience as a Senior Network Administrator
-
Experience with at least one of the following: F5 Palo Alto VMware HyperV

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills

Experience with Microsoft Word Excel and Visio

Knowledge of PowerPoint and SharePoint
