Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the successful delivery of large complex programs and projects across the full Project Management Lifecycle. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for the client ensuring seamless coordination across technical and business teams including infrastructure applications QA change management and customer support.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies strong stakeholder management skills and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with stakeholders senior leadership and third-party vendors to ensure successful program delivery.
- Lead the execution of projects across all phases of the lifecycle including initiation planning development testing execution monitoring and closeout.
- Oversee day-to-day project activities including sprint planning backlog management scheduling and deliverable tracking.
- Align project goals with business objectives and ensure stakeholder expectations are consistently met.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Develop and maintain project plans resource plans communication strategies and performance metrics.
- Identify and manage project risks dependencies and resource constraints ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
- Provide regular status updates including risks issues and key decisions to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Prepare and present materials for executive steering committees as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment providing guidance direction and motivation to team members.
- Support internal communications and resource allocation efforts across project teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Business Finance or a related field
- 12 years of experience managing complex IT programs and projects
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives of varying size and complexity
- Minimum of four (4) multi-year project implementation experiences
- Strong experience leading projects within Agile environments with familiarity in Waterfall methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams drive performance and foster innovation
- Excellent communication stakeholder management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Visio
- Atlassian tools (Jira Confluence)
Work Environment
- Hybrid work model
- Candidates must reside in the DMV (DC Maryland Virginia) area and be available to work onsite as required
