The Postpartum/Mother-Baby RN provides nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns following delivery with emphasis on recovery bonding feeding support discharge readiness and family education. This role focuses on family-centered postpartum care newborn-care teaching breastfeeding support discharge preparation and monitoring the mother s physical and emotional recovery.
Location: Phoenix AZ Shifts: 12hr; 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM / 4 6 shifts per month Openings: Per Diem
Pay Rate: Local: $65/hr.

Duties & Responsibilities
Assess postpartum patients for bleeding fundal tone pain incision healing vital signs and recovery status
Assess newborn adaptation feeding elimination temperature and general well-being
Support breastfeeding latch education pumping guidance and routine newborn care teaching
Educate families on diapering bathing swaddling umbilical cord care safe sleep and warning signs after discharge
Monitor for postpartum complications such as hemorrhage infection hypertension or mood concerns
Administer medications treatments and vaccines as ordered for mother and newborn
Coordinate discharge planning and reinforce follow-up care instructions for both mother and infant
Promote bonding patient safety and a supportive family-centered environment
Requirements:
Valid CA RN License.
Current BLS/CPR
2 current supervisor references
