Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule: Day Shift 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Duration:14 Weeks / Contract
Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hours/day 5 days/week)
Weekend/Holiday/On-Call: None
Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves working with advanced imaging technology ensuring patient safety and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment and perform diagnostic imaging procedures
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety protocols
- Perform radionuclide imaging organ function studies and assist with therapeutic procedures
- Ensure proper patient identification and image quality using PACS systems
- Provide radiation protection for patients self and staff
- Prepare radioactive tracer compounds and calibrate equipment
- Receive inspect and manage radiopharmaceutical materials per regulatory guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of radioactive material usage storage and disposal
- Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free work environment
- Rotate through assignments such as Cardiology and PET/CT as needed
- Perform clerical duties including scheduling documentation and system updates (e.g. EMR systems)
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers adapting to individual needs
- Adhere to organizational policies safety standards and professional conduct guidelines
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures safety standards and imaging systems
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid state license (NJDEP or equivalent)
- ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
