Senior Systems Engineer (all genders)

Network & Network Security

Full time and permanent

Responsibilities:

• Design develop and maintain scalable secure and highly available network infrastructures
• Evaluate and select network hardware and software based on business requirements
• Create network architectures ensuring fault tolerance and high availability
• Implement network solutions including device configuration cabling and integration into existing environments
• Conduct testing to validate functionality performance and security of implemented solutions
• Monitor network performance and security using appropriate tools and dashboards
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues to minimize downtime and service disruption
• Perform regular security reviews audits and risk assessments
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks for routine network administration tasks
• Utilize automation tools such as Ansible Puppet or Chef for infrastructure management
• Identify opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of network topologies configurations and infrastructure changes
• Develop operational and support documentation for internal teams
• Collaborate closely with internal IT teams to ensure smooth implementation and operation of network solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional experience in network engineering and network security
• Strong hands-on experience with firewalls VPNs IDS/IPS and network security implementations
• Experience with AlgoSec Firewall Management tool is ideal
• Deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP HTTP/HTTPS SSL/TLS and PKI
• Knowledge of encryption technologies and cryptographic principles
• Experience with cloud security concepts and cloud-based infrastructure environments
• Proficiency in scripting/automation languages for infrastructure and task automation
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement mitigation measures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus
