Shift: MondayFriday 6:30 AM 3:30 PM
JOB SUMMARY
The Field Technician Flooring & Cabinet plays a critical role in ensuring flooring and cabinetry installations meet quality standards and project timelines across assigned communities. This position works closely with builders superintendents subcontractors and internal teams to inspect completed work resolve issues and support overall jobsite readiness. Success in this role means installations are completed accurately deficiencies are identified and resolved quickly and strong relationships are maintained with builders and customers. This role requires strong attention to detail communication skills and the ability to manage multiple job sites in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure installation quality by performing site visits and inspecting flooring and cabinetry within required timelines.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with builders superintendents and job site personnel.
Communicate professionally and promptly with internal teams and external partners to support jobsite operations.
Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate timely resolution to maintain quality and project schedules.
Perform minor repairs and touch-ups including tile LVP grout and caulking to meet quality standards.
Maintain accurate job documentation by recording notes submitting walk sheets and providing photo updates.
Coordinate material management by tracking site inventory removing excess materials and returning items to the warehouse.
Support customer service efforts by conducting inspections and resolving issues with homebuyers and stakeholders.
Assist with occasional material deliveries and will-call pickups to support field and warehouse operations.
Communicate jobsite readiness delays and outstanding issues to leadership to ensure timely resolution.
Attend builder meetings including preconstruction and safety meetings to stay aligned with project requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in construction flooring cabinetry or field service environments.
Ability to perform minor repairs and use basic hand tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and job site personnel.
Ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities independently.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.
Proficiency with basic computer systems and mobile technology for documentation and communication.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in residential new construction environments.
Familiarity with flooring and cabinetry installation standards.
Experience working with builders superintendents or subcontractors.
Experience with construction management or job tracking systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Mobility: Frequently required to move between job sites and active construction environments.
Positioning: Regularly required to bend stoop kneel crouch and reach with hands and arms.
Manual Dexterity: Frequently uses hand tools and mobile devices to complete inspections and documentation.
Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with builders customers and team members in active job site environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
Job Site/Field: Exposure to active construction sites outdoor weather conditions dust and varying terrain.
Warehouse/Facility: Occasional exposure to warehouse environments during material handling and returns.
Operational Demands: Role may require meeting deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment to support operational needs.
Safety: Requires adherence to all safety policies and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
