Alices Restaurant A Caring Café is seeking an experienced General Manager & Head Chef to lead our daytime restaurant operations while helping grow an exciting catering and community events business. This is a hands-on chef-driven leadership role ideal for a culinary professional who excels in both the kitchen and overall restaurant management.
As part of ARC of the Treasure Coast Alices Restaurant blends excellent food with a mission to train and empower individuals with disabilities in a real-world food service environment.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for the full operation of the restaurant including kitchen leadership front-of-house management staff development budgeting and performance oversight. The General Manager & Head Chef will also play a key role in developing and expanding catering services creating an opportunity for both financial and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all daily restaurant operations with a focus on quality service and efficiency
- Serve as hands-on culinary leader ensuring consistent food quality and presentation
- Manage hiring training scheduling and performance of restaurant staff
- Oversee food labor and operating budgets; manage inventory and vendor ordering
- Develop menus specials and seasonal offerings
- Lead the development and expansion of catering and special event services
- Coach and mentor staff and trainees in a supportive inclusive environment
- Foster strong teamwork accountability and positive workplace culture
- Ensure compliance with health safety sanitation and ServSafe standards
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in restaurant leadership (General Manager Executive Chef or similar role)
- Strong culinary background with hands-on kitchen leadership experience
- Proven ability to manage budgets food cost labor cost and inventory
- Experience training and leading diverse teams
- Interest in growing catering or expanded food service programs preferred
- Excellent organizational communication and leadership skills
Requirements
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass a Level II background screening
