Description:

• Serve as a patient advocate on billing issues byassistingthe patients in finding the best way to finance their thehospitalslimited community benefit resources by implementing the financialassistancepolicy with fairness and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• ProvideHCHfinancialassistanceapplication withgoodexplanation of how to complete it. Receive applications and check for from patients when up withpatientregardingwhatspending.

• Resolve patients billing concerns via the telephone correspondence or in-person

• Investigate problems and complaints and initiate resolution in a professional and efficient manner.

• Process credit card payments for various hospital departments and record transactions asindicatedby accounting department procedures.

• Able to interpret clinical data sufficiently todetermineeligibility for various programs.

• Mustpossessexcellent auditing and analytical skills for reconciliation of accounts.

• Able to interpret read and work from computer reports and spread sheets.

What you will need:

• High school graduatepossessingthree (3)years experiencein accounting and medical claims management preferably in a hospital or physicians office setting.

• Must be bilingual English and Spanish.

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

• Thorough understanding of Medicaid Medicare and other programs that canassistthe uninsured in paying for their healthcare with the uninsured and acts as a liaison for the hospital.

• Proficiencywith WindowsWord& Excel.

• Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate information in a clear and concisemanner.

Pay Range: $18.78 - $26.29

Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
